Inter Milan have contacted Tottenham to enquiry whether they want to swap Erik Lamela for either Marcelo Brozovic or Jeison Murillo.
Despite being a key part of boss Mauricio Pochettino’s squad last season, reports in Italy are suggesting Lamela could be on his way back to Serie A this summer.
The Argentine signed from Roma in a club-record deal in 2013 and has struggled at times to live up to expectations, resulting in him being linked with a return to Serie A on more than one occasion.
The latest speculation says Inter want to sign the 24-year-old and are ready to offer Spurs one of two members of their current squad in an exchange deal.
Colombian defender Murillo, who has featured 35 times for Inter, is said to be one option, although reports in Italy say it is more likely the Nerazzurri will push for Spurs to take Croatian midfielder Brozovic.
Brozovic’s agent is said to be have been pushing for a new contract from Inter but the club are unwilling to met his demands and he could therefore be allowed to leave in the summer.
Whether Spurs are interested in a swap deal remains to be seen but they have previously informed clubs they would let Lamela leave for £25million.
