Arsenal face a battle to sign Bolton defender Rob Holding following reports arch rivals Tottenham have entered the race.
The Gunners have been leading the chase to sign the highly-rated 20-year-old for the last two weeks, but they have so far been unable to hammer out a deal.
Arsenal have failed with at least one bid for the central defender, who has just received international recognition with the England Under-21s, and a second bid was said to be in the pipeline.
However, until a deal is in the bag, the door is open for other clubs to nip in and match Bolton’s valuation, which is reported to be £7million.
Everton, Bournemouth and Celtic have all been linked, but it has now been suggested that Tottenham have thrown their hat into the ring and will be a genuine threat to Arsenal’s chances of doing a deal.
Bolton will be delighted as it will boost their chances of getting the £7million they are after and it looks as though the Gunners will have to move quickly if they are secure a deal.
