Tottenham are the latest club to be linked with a move for the sought-after Toulouse striker Wissam Ben Yedder.
Ben Yedder, 25, scored 17 goals in Ligue 1 last season despite his club only just avoiding relegation and is valued at around £8million, a figure which is unlikely to put off any interested parties and certainly not Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.
West Ham have been strongly linked with the talented former France Under-21 international and, after the success they had with Dimitri Payet in last summer’s transfer window, they are ready to take another gamble.
Despite the arrival of Vincent Janssen at White Hart Lane, Pochettino is still looking to strengthen with a Champions League campaign looming and Ben Yedder has been catching the eye even in pre-season matches.
His current coach, Pascal Dupraz, recognises that Toulouse may not hang onto their star player beyond the current transfer window but hopes to have him for the start of the Ligue 1 season.
He added: “There are three league games in August, if Wissam wants to play with us, I do not complain.”
