Galatasaray have released a statement to officially deny reports that Tottenham have tabled a bid to sign goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.
A report in Turkey on Thursday had linked the Premier League title contenders with a move for the Uruguay goalkeeper, 29, who was said to be being lined up to provide competition for Hugo Lloris.
But Muslera’s current club claim there have been no negotiations for the 77-cap international, who has appeared in all of Galatasaray’s league games this season.
An official club statement from the Turkish giants read: “No offers have been received from Tottenham Hotspur nor have negotiations taken place for our goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.”
Galatasaray are in turmoil at the moment after UEFA suspended them from European competition for breaching financial fair play rules earlier in the week while Mustafa Denizli also resigned as manager after just three months in charge.
The future of the Istanbul club’s star players has been a source of speculation since the ban.
