Swansea are being linked with a move to bring Tottenham midfielder Tom Carroll back the Liberty Stadium this summer.
Carroll had a spell on loan with the Swans back in the 2014/15 campaign, making eight appearances for then boss Garry Monk, and reports are rife he could return.
There is confusion over Carroll’s situation at White Hart Lane as his deal is understood to have expired in June, which means he would be available on a free transfer.
However, Carroll was marked down as contracted to the club when Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino published his retained and released list earlier in the summer, but the club are yet to announce an extension.
The 24-year-old did go through pre-season with Spurs but was not involved in their Premier League opener against Everton last weekend, which they drew 1-1.
Swansea are now being linked, but the move would come as something of a surprise as Francesco Guidolin is well stocked in midfield after recently adding Leroy Fer to his ranks.
