Crystal Palace defender Pape Souare has vowed to return stronger following a car crash and has thanked the fans for their support.
Souare is facing up to six months on the sidelines after fracturing his thigh and jaw in the accident on the M4 two weeks ago, but is grateful as it could have been much worse.
The Eagles fans unveiled a banner saying ‘stay strong Pape’ and the defender has now issued a message of his own, vowing to come back stronger that before.
“It is with a deep feeling of gratefulness that I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all and everyone for their support in this tough time,” he said.
“Your prayers, messages, calls, pictures, banners and all other kind gestures are really touching and appreciated. It is keeping me going. I will come back stronger for you guys, for us.”
