Sheikh Mansour to snub Champions League final even if Manchester City are in it

Sheikh Mansour has spent more than a £1b of his personal fortune on transforming City into one of the most powerful clubs in Europe.

He lured Guardiola to the Etihad in 2016 on a £15m-a-season deal in the hope he could help the club achieve the holy grail of winning the Champions League.

City have never reached the final of club football’s biggest competition and the closest they came to this was when Manuel Pellegrini led them to the last four in 2016 before crashing out to Real Madrid.

Seeing City become kings of Europe remains the ultimate goal for Sheikh Mansour.

But it has emerged that even if Guardiola’s side reach the final in Kiev’s Olympic Stadium in May he will not bother going.

Sheikh Mansour bought the club in 2008 – but has attended just one game in Manchester since then.
