Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross is expected to be included in the starting line-up for the visit of Southampton on Saturday.
The centre-half has been absent with a back injury but returned to training this week and is in contention to start.
If Shawcross is recalled Marc Muniesa may be the man to make way in the Potters’ defence.
Boss Mark Hughes is confident Stoke can take all three points this weekend as they look to finish as high in the standings as possible, with the Potters currently in seventh spot.
He told the club’s official website: “We are playing well, and have a lot of encouragement and belief from the game against Chelsea and the previous two home games, which were wins.
“Southampton are a good team but we have played other good teams in recent weeks and been able to claim positive results.
“We played against Aston Villa and Newcastle, who posed different problems to us, and we were able to break them down with moments of quality – hopefully we can do the same on Saturday.”
