Luke Shaw is poised play for the first time in 10 months in Man Utd’s pre-season friendly against Wigan, sources for SiaS say.
The Old Trafford left-back has provisionally been pencilled in for the clash against the Latics next Saturday after fully recovering from the double leg break he sustained playing against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League last September.
Shaw returned to training at the end of April and the 20-year-old was then back at Carrington a fortnight before the start of pre-season training.
The £32m former Southampton graduate has impressed United’s medical staff with his desire to return and is clearly making good progress.
On Friday night, he posted on Twitter: “Good first training session back with the boys today! Feels so good to be back!”
Shaw snubbed Jose Mourinho last summer when he decided to choose United over Chelsea and the defender will now be keen to get on the right side of his new manager with a decent first showing against Latics.
