Stoke are sweating over the fitness of Xherdan Shaqiri after he picked up a thigh injury in the defeat against Southampton.
The midfielder had to be replaced by Bojan after 31 minutes and boss Mark Hughes confirmed after the 2-1 defeat that Shaqiri has a thigh injury that needs assessing.
Stoke are now waiting to discover the full extent of the damage and will be keeping their fingers crossed it is nothing serious.
Meanwhile, the injury to the Swiss international was not the only concern for Hughes as his influential skipper Ryan Shawcross also had to leave the field.
“We’ve got to check on Ryan Shawcross because I think he was struggling in the last five minutes of the game so hopefully that’s just a little bit of tiredness and that’s not significant, because obviously he’s only just come back, but we’ll have to check him come Monday,” Hughes said after the game.
“I thought he did okay, I thought he was fine.”
