Shane Long sends vying message to Graziano Pelle following Stoke double

Stoke had got one back from Marko Arnautovic and the visitors had to ride it out near the end when they were reduced to 10 men after Sadio Mane was harshly sent-off just after coming on.

Potters defender Philipp Wollscheid couldn’t believe how his side put it on a plate for Saints.

He said: “We made it difficult for ourselves, conceding two goals quite early. We weren’t quite at it in the first half. They were almost a yard quicker than we were.

“It’s hard to explain why this happened. There are no words. We knew they had great quality on corners and free-kicks and we made it too easy for them.”
