Roma are ready to rekindle their interest in Southampton midfielder Jordy Clasie and want to know if he could be available this summer.
The former Feyenoord star joined the Saints for a fee in the region of £8million last summer but has missed a huge chunk of the campaign through injury.
The 24-year-old was on the radar of Serie A giants Roma and Napoli last year and, according to Calciomercato.it, the Giallorossi are asking about his availability again.
Saints are likely to reject their advances after waiting patiently for Clasie to return to fitness and show the form that persuaded Ronald Koeman to go for him.
But Roma could hope that by making their interest public they can turn the Dutchman’s head – particularly with the club on track to qualify for the Champions League next season.
