Stoke City have been linked with a swoop for 17-year-old Dundee United defender Harry Souttar.
Souttar, the younger brother of Hearts defender John, made his debut for Dundee United in May and has also represented Scotland at Under-17 level.
Reports in Scotland suggest the Potters are keen on the defender and are hopeful of concluding a deal before the transfer window closes.
If the Potters do manage to land the youngster he will probably join the club’s development squad rather than challenge for a first-team spot.
Meanwhile, it seems as if Marc Wilson is edging closer to an exit after manager Mark Hughes confirmed he is prepared to allow the defender to depart.
Wilson is believed to have undergone a medical with Bournemouth on Monday and is set to join the Cherries in the coming days.
