Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce has revealed he will not be in France to scout at Euro 2016, despite plotting summer transfers.
The Black Cats, once again, avoided relegation to the Championship as they languished near the bottom of the table for the majority of the campaign.
And while manager Allardyce has admitted he is attempting to strengthen his squad, he also told the Weekend Sports Breakfast he won’t be in France to look at possible targets in the flesh.
“I’ll be watching [Euro 2016] on the TV,” he said. “I’m not actually going out there. I’m busy trying to improve the [Sunderland] squad.
“The end of the season was a great relief for us all at Sunderland. My job now is to strengthen the squad as much as possible to make sure we’re not fighting relegation again.”
