Ryan Bertrand says he wants Southampton to end the season in style as the club look to secure a top-six finish.
Back-to-back victories over Liverpool and Stoke has left the Saints just three points behind Manchester United in sixth place ahead of a huge game against league leaders Leicester a week on Sunday.
Bertrand is hopeful the momentum gained from last Sunday’s come-from-behind win over the Reds will not be lost during the international break as they aim to secure European qualification for next season.
He told the Daily Echo: “We’re in a great moment, the longer we keep this going the better, but we’ll still have our focus when we come back.”
The right-back hopes he ends the campaign in style personally as he bids to secure a place in England’s squad for Euro 2016, claiming he is planning to knuckle down and work hard for club and country over the coming weeks.
“There’s people in charge of the team who will pick who they think is best and hopefully just concentrate on performing in which ever I may be in for that week and hopefully that will do,” he said.
“It’s starting to get back in the frame and it’s a massive tournament which it’s everybody’s dream to be part of.”
