Inter Milan are the latest team to be linked with a swoop to sign Southampton target, Feyenoord midfielder Tonny Vilhena.
The 21-year-old is set to become a free agent this summer having turned down a new contract at De Kuip, and a large number of clubs have already expressed an interest in snapping him up.
The Saints were thought to be the favourites for the Netherlands Under-21’s signature having pursued Vilhena for the best part of a year, with boss Ronald Koeman trying to land him last summer and during the January transfer window.
However fresh reports last month claimed Premier League champions Leicester were in the driving seat to sign Vilhena given that they have Champions League football on offer at the King Power Stadium.
But reports in Italy are suggesting both Milan clubs are also looking to entice Vilhena to Serie A, with one media outlet claiming that he has already agreed a four-year deal worth 1.5million euros a season to join Roberto Mancini’s Inter.
