Southampton duo Fraser Forster and Ryan Bertrand have been called up to the England squad for the upcoming friendlies.
Goalkeeper Forster’s call-up is more significant as it is the first time he is back in the England fold since his 10-month injury absence after rupturing the patella tendon in his knee.
The 28-year-old has shone on his return to the Saints’ line up as he has conceded just six goals in ten games, while picking up the Premier League Player of the Month award for February in the process.
Meanwhile, Bertrand is also set to feature at left-back for Three Lions coach Roy Hodgson in the friendlies against Germany and the Netherlands later this month.
Both players will now hope they can remain part of the England set-up when Hodgson names his squad for Euro 2016 in the summer.
