Swansea could miss out on the signing of Norwich winger Nathan Redmond as Southampton step up their interest in the player.
Redmond is ready to depart Carrow Road this summer following the Canaries’ relegation and it is understood that he has an £8million release clause in his deal.
Swansea along with Stoke City, West Brom and West Ham have been linked with a swoop, but reports have now claimed that Southampton are leading the race for his signature.
Swans boss Francesco Guidolin is looking to add more width to his ranks this summer and would be willing to match the £8million that would activate the release clause.
However, Southampton are also in the hunt for reinforcements in attack amid speculation over the futures of both Sadio Mane and Graziano Pelle, and Redmond has now emerged as a target.
Swansea will battle for Redmond’s signature, but reports claim a move to St Mary’s looks the likeliest option at this stage, even though boss Ronald Koeman is heading for the exit door.
