Southampton are in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Hungary’s Euro 2016 midfield star Adam Nagy, according to reports in France.
L’Equipe claim Saints are showing a strong interest in the 21-year-old midfielder who turned in some excellent displays in the group stage against Austria and Iceland.
However, the report also claims that Southampton put talks over Nagy on hold while they appointed Claude Puel manager this week.
The former Nice boss will now decide if he wants the club to pursue a transfer with Nagy’s Hungarian club Ferencvaros.
Marseille were linked with a move for the midfielder this week while Benfica have been tracking him since before the tournament.
