Stuttgart’s Serbian winger Filip Kostic has been linked with a summer switch to Southampton.
The 23-year-old, who joined the German outfit in summer 2014 from Dutch outfit FC Groningen, scored five goals in 30 Bundesliga appearances last term.
However it was not enough to prevent Stuttgart from being relegated and Kostic is believed to be looking to get a move as he does not wish to play in the second tier next term.
He only broke into the Serbia national team last year and wants to stay at a higher level as not to hamper his international aspirations.
Saints, who are still without a manager following Ronald Koeman’s exit, are believed to be in the running for Kostic, while Borussia Dortmund and Valencia have also been linked.
Kostic is contracted to Stuttgart until summer 2019 and they will look for a sizeable fee before allowing him to depart given that Groningen are due to pick up 15% of it having placed a sell-on clause in his contract.
