Southampton striker Graziano Pelle has emerged as a top summer transfer target for Italian side Lazio.
The Biancocelesti are after a new forward this summer as veteran Miroslav Klose, 37, is tipped to leave and they have, according to the Corriere dello Sport, targeted Saints ace Pelle.
The 30-year-old has just over a year left on his contract with Saints and there appears no sign of a new deal on the table, so the Italy international could look to head back to his home country when the transfer window reopens.
Other strikers linked with Lazio include Torino’s Ciro Immobile, Genoa’s Leonardo Pavoletti, Ajax forward Arkadiusz Milik and Sunderland man Fabio Borini but reports suggest Pelle is their main target.
Saints boss Ronald Koeman may be prepared to let Pelle leave this summer for around £8million as he has fit-again Jay Rodriguez, Charlie Austin and Shane Long as his other options up front.
Pelle has hit 29 goals in 78 games in all competitions for the club since he followed Koeman from Feyenoord in 2014.
