Barcelona winger Cristian Tello is reportedly set to reject Southampton’s £10million offer and re-join Fiorentina in a permanent deal.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claim the Florence club, where Tello spent the second half of last season on loan, is set to win the race for his signature.
The 24-year-old scored two goals and provided five assists in 15 league appearances for La Viola, after the last six months of his two-year loan deal at Porto were cancelled.
Southampton were keen on the Spain international and had proposed a deal involving higher wages while also meeting the Catalan club’s £10million asking price.
But Gazzetta claim Fiorentina have made Tello their primary summer target and will exercise their option to make his loan deal permanent for 8million euros – just £6.7m.
