Ryan Giggs’ debut for Manchester United: Fans celebrate the winger’s brilliance

Ryan Giggs’ career as a Man United first team player began on this day (02/03/91) 25 years ago and fans have been celebrating the winger.

He was 17 when he came on for Denis Irwin against Everton in a 2-0 defeat, but by the time he finished playing in 2014 he was a total winner.

He scored 168 goals in 963 appearances and won 13 league titles, four FA Cups and the Champions League twice.

Many fans hope to see Giggs as a Man United manager one day – watch his fantastic volley against West Ham in 1991 here.
