Robin van Persie is being linked with a shock return to Arsenal as his time in Turkey appears to be over.
The former Gunners star currently plays his football with Fenerbahce but he has struggled to impress and reports claim the Turkish side are happy to sell him on.
After missing out on Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is looking elsewhere for a new striker, and Van Persie could be an option.
The Dutchman may not be the marquee signing that Wenger is targeting, but at just £4million, the Frenchman could be tempted to bring him back to the Emirates Stadium.
Van Persie will only be interested if a London club comes knocking, and West Ham and Crystal Palace are also said to be interested.
Fenerbahce president Azil Yildirim said earlier this week: “Van Persie? We’re waiting for buyers, if he wants to be sold.”
