Roy Hodgson urges experimental England squad to take inspiration from Germany

“There will be quite a lot of inexperienced players on the field, but the only way they are going to get experience is in the games against Spain and France and now Germany and Holland.

“I am confident that the team I have selected is a good team.

“You cannot get much further than winning a World Cup.

“I personally believe there’s a platform now of players coming through who could develop into really good quality players and help the team and the country, in some stage in the future, to win something. “But you can’t make a clear comparison with Germany. You can’t guarantee it will happen for us, too.
