Roy Hodgson orders Jamie Vardy to forget about Arsenal transfer and focus on England

Vardy arrived in France yesterday with the rest of the England squad still agonising over a possible £20m switch to the Gunners.

Arsenal have offered him a four-year deal worth £120,000 a week while champions Leicester can only stretch to £90,000 a week.

Vardy, 29, is torn between moving to the Emirates or remaining loyal to the club that gave him the chance to perform at the top level.

But England boss Roy Hodgson has made it clear that Vardy can’t be distracted ahead of England’s Group B opener with Russia on Saturday.
