Roma are set to slap down a bid for Manchester City right-back Pablo Zabaleta after agreeing personal terms with the player.
The Argentine defender has been a long-term target for the Italian giants and his future at the Etihad is uncertain following the appointment of Pep Guardiola.
It is understood that the Spaniard will look for alternatives to Zabaleta next season, which has prompted the 31-year-old to go on the search for a new club.
According to Sky Italia, Zabaleta and his agent have met Roma officials and a deal on his contract and salary has been agreed.
Roma now need to stump up sufficient funds to persuade City to sell their long-serving defender, but a fee in the region of £3m should be enough to complete a deal.
