Arsenal and Stoke have been told to forget about making a move for Manchester United defender Phil Jones as he is not for sale.
Jones has struggled for first-team action at Old Trafford and reports suggested that he would be allowed to move on as he does not figure in the plans of Reds boss Jose Mourinho.
Stoke assistant boss Mark Bowen revealed earlier in the week that the Potters were hoping to push through a deal, and reports have also claimed that Arsenal are back in the hunt.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was linked with a move earlier in the summer and he is said to have resurrected his interest as he desperately attempts to sign a new central defender.
Wenger has been told that Jones’ former United team-mate Jonny Evans is not for sale at West Brom, and not for the first time he is being forced to look elsewhere.
It seems as though Potters boss Mark Hughes will have to do the same as it has now been suggested that Jones is indeed in the thoughts of Mourinho for now at least, and will not be allowed to move on before this latest deadline.
