Hull City are keeping an eye on Mohamed Sissoko’s situation at West Brom and could swoop if he is not offered a deal at the Hawthorns.
The ex-Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, who is without a club after leaving Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua, is on trial with the Baggies and played in Saturday’s 1-0 friendly win over Indian side Delhi Dynamos.
Sissoko joined fellow trialist Marouane Chamakh for the fixture, and Baggies boss Tony Pulis will sit down with Sissoko at the end of the week to discuss his future.
Sissoko also had a spell with Liverpool and wants to return to the Premier League, so if Albion do not offer him a deal it could open the door for the Tigers to swoop.
“I feel good. I was really happy to play for 60 minutes at The Hawthorns and I am confident I can do well here,” Sissoko told Sky Sports. “It’s been a long time since I left England. I’ll be here with West Brom this week and we’ll see what happens after that.
“The manager has told me just to come and enjoy it and then we’ll sit down and talk about my future. But I’m really happy to back with a club in one of the best league’s in the world and I hope I can stay here.”
