Chelsea have joined Liverpool in the race to sign Porto midfielder Ruben Neves and reports claim the Blues are favourites to land him.
The 19-year-old has made an impressive start to the new season and his form has alerted Chelsea, who are keen to do a deal when the January transfer window opens.
Liverpool have already been linked with a move for the youngster, but Chelsea are said to be in the box seat and are willing to start the bidding at £24million.
Neves is under contract until 2019 so Porto are under no pressure to sell, but it is highly unlikely they will be able to turn down the kind of money that Chelsea will put on the table.
Juventus and Valencia are also said to be keen on the midfielder, but it is thought he would prefer a move to the Premier League, making Chelsea and Liverpool favourites.
