Ryan Giggs is reportedly on Celtic’s radar to become their next boss.
The Scottish champions announced on Wednesday that Ronny Deila will leave his post at the end of the season.
Neil Lennon has expressed an interest in returning to the role, while former United boss David Moyes has also suggested he could be keen on the job.
But United legend Giggs, who was part of Moyes’ coaching staff at Old Trafford and is now Louis van Gaal’s number two, is understood to be a leading contender.
The Welshman has been tipped by Van Gaal to replace him in the top job when he departs the club.
But is widely thought that Jose Mourinho is the favoured choice of the United hierarchy to succeed Van Gaal and there is speculation he could replace the Dutchman as soon as this summer.
That leaves Giggs’ future unclear, and Celtic could now offer the 42-year-old the chance to start his managerial career in Scotland.
Giggs is believed to have reservations about moving north of the border, but that has not stopped the Hoops board from putting him on their wanted list.
