West Ham are trying to hijack Crystal Palace’s attempts to wrap up a season-long loan deal for Chelsea striker Loic Remy.
The Eagles have just splashed out £27million to sign Christian Benteke but another striker is needed and it looked as though a deal for Remy was on the verge of going through.
It had also been suggested that the two clubs have agreed a fee of £10.3million to make the deal permanent at the end of the season if all goes according to plan.
However, the Hammers are also in need of a striker after losing Andre Ayew and Andy Carroll to injury and are said to have also spoken to Chelsea about a loan deal.
Chelsea are happy to do a deal with either club and could leave the decision to the player, in which case Palace will be hoping the fact Alan Pardew has worked with him before wins the day.
Remy is desperate to play first-team football on a regular basis and will also want assurances over his opportunities before making a final decision.
