Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is hoping to persuade holding midfielder Lucas Leiva to remain at the club and fight for his place.
The Brazilian is not guaranteed first team football at Anfield and his chances of regular action appear to have diminished even further after the addition of Marko Grujic to the midfield ranks but Klopp hopes to persuade him to stay.
Lucas is highly thought off at Anfield and Klopp would dearly like the 29-year-old to stay and be part of the first team squad but Galatasaray have been in regular contact with Liverpool throughout the summer and are expected to make an official bid, after manager Jan Olde Riekerink confirmed his interest in the player at the weekend.
