Crystal Palace are closing in on a deal to take Liverpool striker Christian Benteke to Selhurst Park for a £32m fee.
Palace have been after the striker for most of the summer but so far have not met Liverpool’s asking price. However, they have now apparently agreed personal terms with the Belgium international and are closing in on a deal.
Palace were looking to land him before the season starts but reports from Turkey claim that Liverpool will consider a loan deal for Benteke to Besiktas if their valuation for the player is not met.
The striker’s agent Eris Kismet says that is posing a problem for interested parties.
“Liverpool want to sell Benteke but clubs that are interested as unable to match his valuation,” Kismet told Turkish football.com.
“Liverpool would probably have to reduce their asking price if a transfer is to go ahead.”
