Philippe Coutinho says he is settled at Liverpool and wants to be an important player for the team for years to come.
The Brazilian has become an integral part of the Reds’ side since he made the move to Anfield from Inter Milan in January 2013 and is flourishing in Jurgen Klopp’s current system.
The 24-year-old, who finished last season with a career-best tally of 12 goals, has been linked with a move away from Merseyside as a result of his good performances, with Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona said to be interested during the summer.
There appears little danger of Coutinho moving on anytime soon though, the attacking playmaker claiming Liverpool feels like home now, while he also has a contract that runs until 2020.
“Liverpool feels like my home,” Coutinho told the Echo. “I feel happy, settled and comfortable here with the city and the people.”
Coutinho hopes that by staying at Liverpool he will continue to improve and feels the best is yet to come.
“Maybe this is the best I’ve played but I still think I can improve,” he said. “This is just the start. I always want to improve and do better.
“I want to be an important player for this team. I want to help my team-mates to achieve great things.”
