Liverpool may yet get their full valuation for striker Christian Benteke after West Brom joined the race to sign him.
Benteke is surplus to requirements at Anfield but boss Jurgen Klopp has made it very clear he will not be sold on the cheap, and the Reds are after a fee close to the £32.5m they paid Aston Villa for him a year ago.
The Baggies need to rebuild their strikeforce, with Saido Berahino expected to leave, and Benteke is reportedly under consideration although the fee would comfortably break their transfer record.
Crystal Palace are also interested in the 25-year-old, who scored nine goals in 14 league starts last season but has fallen way down the pecking order under Klopp.
The Baggies want to line up a new signing before allowing Berahino to leave, with the club having accepted it is time to cash in on the former England Under-21 international.
