Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has joined the race to sign Southampton star Sadio Mane but faces a battle with Man Utd to land him.
The Senegal international has been the subject of much speculation over the past two seasons but now reports claim that Klopp is going to take the plunge for the 24-year-old.
Arch rivals United have also been linked with a move for the player but it’s thought that Liverpool boss Klopp is going to be first in with an offer of around £25m.
Liverpool have a habit of picking up talent from Southampton and have in the past signed Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren and Rickie Lambert, so it is a path well trodden in recent years.
The Reds had previously been linked with Mario Gotze of Bayern Munich but that deal appears to have gone cold so their attention may now have turned to Mane.
