Liverpool are confident their Main Stand renovations will be completed in time to host Burnley in the first home match of next season.
Contingencies had been put in place months ago, with outline plans to request the game on August 20, now confirmed as being against the Clarets, be played away from home in the event final building work was not done.
However, Press Association Sport understands Anfield can be ready to host the match on the second weekend of the season.
The club are not ruling out the option of asking for a switch to Turf Moor if they feel they require extra time to sign off any final issues, but the ground will be ready to host Sean Dyche’s side if needed.
As yet there has been no contact with Burnley about a request to switch the fixture to an away game for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
