Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has made inquiries about the services of Lyon teenager Houssem Aouar, according to reports in France.
Klopp is not alone though as Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has also been linked with the 17-year old, who has yet to make an appearance at senior level for his club but has done enough in their second string to attract attention.
Lyon are keen to get him signed to a professional contract with them when he turns 18 on June 30 or they risk losing him for just a nominal fee.
Lyon’s recruitment chief Gerard Bonneau is full of praise for the youngster, telling Foot Mercato: “Houssem has a technical ease and good vision that allows him to see quickly.
“He has both feet, can speed up the game, but also can keep the ball at his feet when necessary and has ability in one-on-one situations.
“He can play as a second striker or a playmaker or a runner, and is a quality finisher, capable of scoring and threading the final pass.”
