Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge says there is no pressure on him ahead of England’s Euro 2016 finals.
The Reds ace is in France with the rest of the squad as they warm up for their first match against Russia on Saturday and he is hoping to get the nod to start, although he may well have to settle for a bench role.
The expectation levels are once again growing about England’s chances but Sturridge says he is staying calm on all fronts, despite the fact he appears to be behind both Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy for the striker roles.
Sturridge said: “Competition is fierce everywhere at every club you play at, and at international level, I’m used to it and I thrive on it.
“The feeling in the group is great everyone is relaxed and ready to go.
“There is a togetherness around the camp and we are preparing well.
