Work to complete Liverpool’s new Main Stand will see Anfield’s capacity raised to 54,000 for the start of the new season.

That means the Reds will be playing in front of their largest home crowds since the 1970s when the new campaign kicks off.

Despite this, unless work to increase the capacity at the Anfield Road end somehow lifts overall capacity to 62,000, it looks like Anfield’s record attendance won’t be broken.
