Manchester United are ready to launch a fresh move for Real Madrid forward James Rodriguez in the January window.

United were heavily linked with the Colombian in the summer but a move failed to materialise, as James stressed he wanted to force his way into the Real side.

After three La Liga games so far this season the former Monaco man has managed just 34 minutes of action and that has led to increased speculation he could be on the move when the transfer window reopens.

It has been suggested a fee in the region of £40million may be enough to convince Real to cash-in on James but United could face competition with Arsenal and Tottenham also mooted as potential suitors.

James is yet to request a move but may ask for a transfer in the build-up to the January window if he fails to secure regular football at the Bernabeu.
