The Old Trafford outfit have never won the Europa League, in either its current guise or previous incarnation as the UEFA Cup.

United open their campaign at Feyenoord on Thursday and Rashford is set to start after impressing as a substitute in the Manchester derby defeat.

It has been suggested the club will not make the European competition a priority this season but Rashford hopes to go all the way.

The 18-year-old was handed his debut in the Europa League last season and made an instant impact with a brace against Midtjylland, and Rashford sees this year’s edition as a chance to break new ground.

“For me (the Europa League) was the start of everything so it’s very important for me,” he told MUTV.

“We’re in the competition again and we want to win it. It’s a competition the club have never won and we’d be very happy if we can be the first United team to do that.”
