Raheem Sterling sends a warning to Manchester City

In the wake of Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at Newcastle, winger Raheem Sterling claims City must tighten up to avoid any mishaps in the closing weeks of the season.

City are desperate to deliver a Champions League place for new manager Pep Guardiola next season.

And while they can yet qualify as holders if they beat Real Madrid and then either Bayern Munich or Atletico Madrid, the Premier League remains their best bet.

With England’s fourth representatives having to qualify, City know only by finishing in the top three can they guarantee a ticket into Europe’s elite competition.
