Mamadou Sakho has returned to the UK early from Liverpool’s US tour, amidst talk that his future with the Reds is in doubt.
The French defender looks set to miss the start of the Premier League season due to an Achilles injury, but he was part of the squad during their pre-season trip to America.
Sakho though, turned up late for the tour and some reports claim that is one of the reasons why he had returned early to Merseyside, with suggestions that he has been disciplined by Jurgen Klopp.
There has been no official comment as yet from the club, with the Reds still to play three friendly games across the Atlantic – against Chelsea on July 28, AC Milan on July 31 and Roma on August 2.
Sakho, who missed out on Euro 2016 with France, will now wait to hear what the future has in store for him, especially after the arrivals of two centre backs this summer – Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan.
