West Brom head coach Tony Pulis says his side will be “as ready as they can be” for the first game of the season at Crystal Palace.
Albion have been given the task of taking on Pulis’ old club Palace at Selhurst Park on August 13th, before two home games against Everton and Middlesbrough.
Pulis will be working hard over the summer on transfer targets as he looks to get his Albion squad ready for the new season and he says he understands fans’ excitement when the fixtures come out but, ultimately, clubs must play each other twice and Albion’s fate will be sealed over the course of the campaign.
He told the club’s website: “It’s always exciting going into a new season and the announcement of the fixtures is one of those days everyone enjoys.
“But it doesn’t really matter how the games roll out for you – this is the Premier League and every game is as tough as the one before and the one after.
“Everything we do in pre-season will be geared to making sure we are as ready as we can be for that first match.”
