Norwich are now favourites ahead of Brighton to sign Spurs youngster Alex Pritchard after making a late offer for the midfielder.
The Seagulls had agreed a fee with Tottenham while personal terms with Pritchard and his agent had also all been sorted, with the 23-year-old seemingly set to join the south-coast club in a deal thought to be worth around £4million.
However, the Canaries’ late intervention means Pritchard is now set to make the move to Carrow Road instead, amid claims they have offered him a bigger salary as they make use of parachute payments from their time in the Premier League.
Brighton have not yet given up on landing the midfielder but reports suggest a switch to East Anglia is now much more likely.
Pritchard has been allowed to move on by boss Mauricio Pochettino after making just two Premier League appearances for Spurs in the past three years. He went on loan to West Brom in the second half of last season but only played three times for the Baggies and a drop down to the Championship now beckons.
