Premier League stats of the weekend: Nine interesting facts from matchday eight

The Premier League is finally back!

After what seemed to be the longest ever international break, top-flight football returned with a bang at the weekend with goals and incidents galore.

Despite Swansea’s attempts in the second half at the Emirates, Arsenal held on to secure a 3-2 victory over Bob Bradley’s charges.

That result put Arsene Wenger’s side level on points with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the top, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton.

Leicester’s title defence continued to take a tumble as Chelsea were 3-0 winners at Stamford Bridge, while Mike Phelan began his role as official Hull City manager with a 6-1 defeat at Bournemouth.

All that and much more action spurned up some interesting statistics.
