Stoke are among the clubs said to be lining up a surprise move for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge in the January transfer window.
Sturridge has struggled with injury problems over the last few seasons, but even when fit he appears to be out of favour with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
Reports are rife that Klopp will allow him to leave in the January transfer window and Stoke boss Mark Hughes is said to be in the hunt to do a deal.
Stoke will face competition for his services though as West Ham and Sunderland are also said to be in the hunt for the striker, who has made seven appearances this season, scoring two goals.
It has been suggested that Stoke will be favourites to do a deal as Sturridge has a connection with the area having gone to school in Congleton.
