Stoke have reportedly lodged a bid of £20million with West Brom as they try to secure the services of striker Saido Berahino.
Stoke along with Crystal Palace have been monitoring Berahino’s situation at the Hawthorns since the end of last season.
Reports claim that the Potters have made the first move for his signature by tabling a bid worth £20million on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old has been courted by a number of clubs since breaking on to the scene in 2014-15, while he vowed never to play for the Baggies again last summer after they snubbed an offer from Tottenham.
Berahino later apologised for his comments and scored seven times in 32 games in all competitions last season.
Stoke boss Mark Hughes said on Tuesday that he is hopeful a deal can be struck for the striker but admitted they have yet to have an offer accepted.
Hughes said: “He’s a player at another club so I don’t really want to comment too much, but it’s fair to say we’ve put bids in.
“As we stand, those haven’t been accepted yet, but we’re still hopeful on that one.”
